After sleeping in the dirt for a bit, Dana and I were invited to sleep in many houses upon our arrival in Jackson, Wy. We took everyone up on their offers and slept on plush beds in cozy abodes. First we crashed out in Tessa's place, and then moved into a more semi permanent location in the Jackson hole mtn guides ghetto with another friend Gavin. The scene in Jackson is mellow, but there is never a dull moment. I had the chance to partake in the annual downtown art walk, a must do social affair in Jackson. It was a blast. We drank wine and stuffed our faces with delectable delights, while breathing in the crisp night air and viewing the local masterpieces. Other fun activites included hanging out at the ignious ski factory playing pool, tennis matches at Nate's te-nis club, BBQ-ing with the crew near the pass, burritos at Pica's, Teton Thai, breakfast bagels with bacon, welt ball, taking the homeless dogs for walks, jam sessions in the ghetto, and hours at Shades Cafe. Unfortunately, while having fun in the hole,
Big D and I came down with bad colds. We slept long hours in the ghetto trying to repair for our grand traverse attempt, but we never really got vertical, as we were prisoners to the more horizontal position. We drank countless cups of immune booster tea and tried to ignore the pounding sensations in our heads as we went over our route plan for our trans mountain adventure.
Sitting around made us extremely antsy so we decided to just go for the climb hoping we had enough juju. We left the house at 3am and headed for the hills, but sickness, route conditinos, and plumitting temps sent us back to the ghetto and back into bed. Luckily the mountains will always be there, and there is rumor that they are only growing higher.

happy to hear yer having a fun adventure despite the awful colds...did you by any chance hit Teton Art Lab (a new, funky gallery next to Teton Thai)? one of my best friends Lisa (so super cool) and her husband Travis just opened it with their other cool friend Tristan. anyhow, looks like you're in CO now, otherwise you should connect with Lisa. where are you in CO? anywhere nearby? keep enjoying and posting...adios amigo.
